Compare the actual learning sequence: how a skill is selected, what explanation appears after an error, whether the student gets another independent attempt, and what the parent sees afterward. A feature list alone cannot establish which format fits your student.
When it is worth it
It is worth it when a student will do question sets, the family wants a broad drill catalog, and a teacher or parent is already naming the skill to practice. A large library is useful when you already know what to open.
It is also worth it when the school already uses IXL and you want the home practice to match what the class is assigned. Continuity is a real reason to pay for a catalog.
